WVO Associates Donate $2,600 and Hundreds of Items in Support of Space to Grow's Baskets of Love Program

The Board Members of Wyndham Vacation Ownership’s (WVO) Women On Their Way (WOTW) — an Associate Business Group that aims to help female associates advance within the Company while creating a culture of camaraderie, support and teamwork — held a two-part fundraising and donation drive to benefit Space to Grow’s Baskets of Love program. The Baskets of Love program benefits the Women’s Residential & Counseling Center (WRCC), a program within the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida that provides transitional housing for women and children. The program supports and empowers these women and children (more than 75 percent have been victims of domestic violence) on their way to becoming self sufficient again. Each year Space to Grow provides approximately 70 baskets for the residents at WRCC.

The two-part drive, which took place between February 4 and February 14, encouraged Orlando-based associates to donate essential toiletries, personal care and hygiene products and laundry supplies. In addition, WOTW held a fundraiser through the sales of Sweet! By Good Golly Miss Holly cupcakes. One thousand cupcakes were sold during the drive, raising $2,000 for the women and children at WRCC.

“The ladies of Space to Grow would like to thank the Wyndham team for participating in our 9th Annual Baskets of Love,” said Gigi Moorman, co-founder, Space to Grow. “Your dedication to assisting the women and children at WRCC warmed our hearts.”

Space to Grow is a grassroots non-profit organization that has been supporting women and children in Orlando since 2005.

During a donation presentation event on February 20, representatives from WCRR, Coalition for the Homeless and Space to Grow joined WOTW board members to receive the generous donations from WVO associates. In total — thanks to cupcake sales, the toiletry donations and additional monetary donations — WOTW was able to present the Baskets of Love program with $2,601 and more than eight baskets of personal items.
